JPJ denies authorising Bjak for road tax renewal transactions

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has just issued a public statement, addressing an online promotion by Bjak, which claims to issue road tax, as well as providing services of road tax and driving licence free of charge, as untrue and misleading. The department has also clarified that Bjak’s claim of its online road tax renewal service having been audited and approved by JPJ is also false.

JPJ states that it has received multiple complaints from the public, claiming that they have renewed their road tax via Bijak’s platform, but the validity period of the road tax was not reflected. There has also been another set of complaints made to JPJ, where members of the public have been issued with extra charges while attempting to renew their road tax with Bjak.

Regarding this, JPJ confirmed that neither the department of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) approved any of the extra charges imposed by Bjak on its customers. JPJ also clarified that there is no system integration between the JPJ MySikap system and the internal system utilised by Bjak.

JPJ encourages the public to renew their road tax via certified mediums. This includes JPJ counters, JPJ kiosks, JPJ Mobile counters, the MyJPJ mobile app, JPJ’s public portal, and JPJ’s certified partners including Pos Malaysia, MyEG, and Puspakom.

The public is urged to be aware of any platforms offering uncertified services for road tax renewal to avoid being scammed. If you have any doubts, you may first contact JPJ for further information and clarification.
