2023 Mazda 3 prices increased in Malaysia, now from RM149k

Looking to buy a Mazda 3? Here is something you need to know about it. Mazda’s official distributor in Malaysia – Bermaz Motor has just revised the 2023 Mazda 3’s price tag, giving its price an increase of between RM5,000 and RM6,000 across the line, effective September 1, 2023.

The Mazda 3 is available in two body forms – the sedan and the hatchback (preferably referred to by Mazda as the liftback). The C-segmenter continues to be offered with two engine options in Malaysia – the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated SkyActiv-G engine which makes 118 hp and 153 Nm, and the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated SkyActiv-G engine that makes 162 hp and 213 Nm. Both engines are paired with the brand’s in-house 6-speed automatic transmission, sending power to the front wheels.

A total of three variants are offered with the Mazda 3 Sedan and Liftback each here in Malaysia. Its latest updated price list, which is on-the-road, without insurance, and effective September 1, 2023, is as listed below:

  • 2023 Mazda 3 1.5L Mid Sedan/Liftback – RM149,320 (+RM6,000)
  • 2023 Mazda 3 2.0L High Sedan – RM156,059 (+RM5,000)
  • 2023 Mazda 3 2.0L High Plus Sedan/Liftback – RM166,059 (+RM5,000)

Internationally, the Mazda 3 has received a facelift, giving the C-segment fighter upgraded kits such as a 10.25-inch infotainment display, Wireless Apple CarPlay support, Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) which comes with stop and go function, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, Qi wireless mobile phone charging pad, as well as USB-C ports that replaces the USB-A ones.

It is to be noted that the above-mentioned features are available depending on the variant chosen. Local dealers have hinted at the facelifted Mazda 3 (also known as the Mazda 3 IPM) coming into Malaysia soon, however, the specifications listed on Mazda Malaysia’s website are still reflective of the current model.

In Malaysia, the 2023 Mazda 3 continues to be equipped with an 8.8-inch infotainment display, which comes with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, an 8-speaker sound system, alongside two USB-A ports across the range. The higher spec Mazda 3 2.0L High Plus Sedan and Liftback, as well as the 2.0L Ignite Edition Liftback, continue to be the only variants to be included with the brand’s standard MRCC function.

Whether the Mazda 3 IPM will be reaching Malaysian shores soon, and will it come with an ever higher price tag? Bermaz Motor has yet to announce anything just yet. Therefore, we will have to wait and see.
