2,500 units of the Perodua Axia E manual sold in just 48 hours

The cheapest car in Malaysia has probably set a new record as 2,500 units of the newly launched 2023 Perodua Axia E manual were sold in just 48 hours. Priced at RM22,000, The 2023 Perodua Axia E manual is essentially the same old Axia from before, albeit with revised pricing and a new colour option.

The achievement of the Perodua Axia E was shared by the company through its sales report for the first half of 2023. In the statement, Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said, “Looking ahead, we expect both production and sales to continue their uptrend as demand for our vehicles remain healthy. For example, our recently launched Axia E was well received and our ready stock of 2,500 vehicles were completely distributed within 48 hours.”

With its goal being to provide mobility to everyone, the Perodua Axia E is perhaps the most utilitarian vehicle out there. Equipped with steel wheels, halogen headlight, and a 5-speed manual transmission, its monthly payments rival that of a motorcycle, making it the perfect mobility enabler.

While the Axia E has existed since inception of the Perodua Axia itself in Malaysia back in 2015, Perodua has actually managed to make it cheaper than before. Previously priced at about RM24,000, the Axia E is now RM2,000 cheaper at RM22,000. There some minute changes here in there but the most obvious update to the Axia E would be the new Granite Gray colour option in addition to the existing Glittering Silver and Ivory White colour options.

Launched in June, the 2,500 units of the Axia E that were sold in 48 hours contributed to a total of 144,690 cars sold by Perodua in the first half of the year. Perodua’s best-selling model for the period would be the Bezza followed by the Myvi and the all-new Axia.
