Nissan Serena J Impul now in Malaysia, RM170k for kitted up MPV

You can now move your family around in a bit more style as the Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has unveiled the new Nissan Serena J Impul variant for Malaysia. With the new bells and whistles, the Nissan Serena J Impul fetches a price of RM169,888 (OTR without insurance).

With the new variant of the Nissan Serena, there are now 4 choices of the Nissan Serena – The standard 2.0L Highway Star, the 2.0L Premium Highway Star (Black Package), Premium Highway Star (Two-tone Package), and the new J Impul variant. They cost RM149,888, RM163,888, RM165,888, and RM169,888 respectively.

What does the Impul treatment add to the Nissan Serena? Well, for starters, it gets a complete J made-in-Japan Impul aerokit that features front and rear chome-plated garnishes. Giving the family-mover an even sportier appearance is a set of made-in-Japan 18-inch Impul Millennium alloy wheels which are wrapped in a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Sport tyres.

The Impul treatment extends into the cabin as well as the Nissan Serena J Impul gets a two-tone burgundy and black combination Nappa leather interior. Not only that, but the seats also get some “Zen” treatment as the upholstery also gets Japanese rock garden-inspired patterns on the backrest. Of course, there are also Impul logo embroideries on the seats.

The enhancements are cosmetic-only as the Nissan Serena J Impul retains the same hybrid powertrain that outputs 150 hp and 200 Nm. Making up the hybrid system is a 2.0-litre inline-4 engine (MR20DD) and an “Energy Control” electric motor. Paired with the engine is the brand’s X-Tronic CVT with adaptive shift control.

Other features of the Nissan Serena J Impul are pretty much the same as the Premium Highway Star variant. The new Nissan Serena J Impul is available for viewing and test drives at all Nissan showrooms nationwide.
