Video: Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale & Spider – 1,030hp road legal race car

Ferrari has unveiled special versions of the Ferrari SF90, namely the Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale and the Ferrari SF90 XX Spider. The former will be built in just 799 units while the latter will only be built in 599 units respectively. Lucky for us, we had the opportunity to check out these extreme road cars in the flesh all the way in Maranello.

One look is all it takes to comprehend just how extreme the XX Stradale and XX Spider are. The radical aerodynamic bits on the XX Stradale deliver 530 kg of downforce at 250 km/h. These aero bits include the louvres on the wheel arches, the hood vents, and a fixed rear spoiler. The last one is a first since the iconic F50. Words aren’t quite enough, so we reckon you watch our video to see just how extreme these cars are. Our very own GC Mah shall give you a virtual tour.

Based on the hybrid SF(), XX Stradale and Spider inherit the familiar plug-in hybrid V8 powertrain with three electric motors (two in the front and one in the rear). We didn’t get the chance to drive the car, but what we know is that it makes 1,030 hp, which is 30 hp more than the standard SF90.

Just in case you were wondering, the engine itself makes 797 hp while electric motors provide a total of 233 hp. The transmission is an 8-speed F1 DCT.

Inside, the cabin of the XX Stradale highlights the racing nature of the car. Weight-saving efforts include the door panels, tunnel, mats and a generous amount of carbon fibre. Also carried over from the racing world is the use of Alcantara on the dashboard. The XX Stradale gets a specific racing seat with a visible carbon fibre tubular structure.
