GWM Malaysia opens new 4S centres in Seremban & Butterworth

Just less than two months after the opening of GWM’s first 4S centre in USJ, GWM Malaysia has opened yet another two new 4S (sales, service, spare parts, and survey) centres in Seremban and Butterworth. The new 4S centres are operated by GWM Malaysia together with its dealer partners – Seremban Victory Credit Sdn Bhd and CS Euro Auto Sdn Bhd respectively.

Transport Minister, YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook attended and officiated the opening ceremony of the GWM Seremban 4S Centre. In response to this, GWM Malaysia Managing Director, Mike Cui said during the opening ceremony, “I am grateful to have YB Anthony Loke, Minister of Transport, here to witness this significant milestone of GWM in Malaysia.”

Spanning around 11,000 sq ft and 25,000 sq ft respectively, the new 4S centres in Seremban and Butterworth provide both sales and aftersales service support and are equipped with dedicated service areas which include multiple service bays. Genuine spare parts are also available at the new 4S centres.

With showrooms capable of displaying up to 5 vehicles in both 4S centres, other amenities provided include a meeting room, lounge area, and gaming area. Free Wifi connection, coffee and snacks are also available.

GWM Malaysia says that the opening of its Seremban 4S centre is a significant move for the company, as the centre is catered towards people who are moving from cities to suburban areas, while the population of Seremban has also grown significantly over the years. In addition, Penang is also one of the major cities in Malaysia with a rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) charging network.

As GWM is expanding its presence in Malaysia, it is also supporting the Malaysian government’s effort to become a carbon-neutral nation as soon as 2050. This initiative aligns with the government’s plans to encourage EV adoption, as well as the national target of 15% total industry volume (TIV) for EVs and hybrids by 2030.

As part of the government’s commitment to a greener future, YB Anthony Loke recently mentioned that the proposed tax structure aims to encourage people to embrace EVs. He also acknowledged concerns from the people regarding the potential increase in road tax for EVs after the current exemption policy expires in 2025. To address these concerns, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) plans to provide clear and transparent information about how the road tax will be calculated by the end of this year, offering direct answers to potential buyers.
