When first introduced in Malaysia, the EQS came in the guise of the EQS 450+ which was a single-motor RWD version of the car. It was fully imported (CBU) from Germany. The EQS 450+ was later replaced by the locally assembled EQS 500 4MATIC, which is a dual-motor version of the car. Now Malaysia welcomes the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+.

On the outside, the Mercedes-AMG EQS distinguishes itself from its non-AMG counterpart with the typical AMG styling cues. Proudly placed upfront is the AMG-specific black panel “grille” with hot-stamped vertical struts in chrome. Of course, you also get the usual AMG letterings on the “grille” and on the tailgate.

The EQS 53 4MATIC+ boasts a drag coefficient of 0.23 and this is thanks to several design features. The AMG aero-specialists have carried a large number of wind tunnel and flow testing and have added the following features for the best aerodynamics:

  • Front splitter in high-gloss black with chrome trim
  • Air Curtains on the left and right in high gloss black with chrome trims
  • AMG side sill panels in high-gloss black
  • Rear apron in body colour with aerodynamically optimized diffuser (with 6 longitudinal fins)
  • Larger rear spoiler (compared to AMG line version)
  • 21-inch AMG light-alloy wheels
