Rimac Nevera breaks 23 world records in one day

The Rimac Nevera just had a world record-attempt outing at the Automotive Testing Papenburg (ATP) facility in Germany, and in one day, it managed to break, not one, not two, but a whopping 23 world records in one day. If you’re just here for the figures, here’s everything that it managed to beat:

Judging it plainly by numbers might not convey how truly bonkers they really are, so you might want to check out the video below. But just for context, the Rimac Nevera can accelerate all the way to 300 km/h (9.22 seconds) before most common cars here in Malaysia even touches 100 km/h.

Its 0-200 km/h times are also twice as fast as the latest Porsche 911 Turbo S (which is already crazy fast, at 8.9 seconds), and it’ll reach 300 km/h nearly three seconds faster than a Bugatti Chiron Super Sport. Quarter mile in 8.25 seconds? That’s more than a second quicker than the Tesla Model S Plaid (on a prepared surface, too, mind you), which was the previous record holder for production vehicles.

For a hypercar, though, the 0-400-0 test is possibly one of the most important, as it challenges not just the car’s acceleration, but also aerodynamics and braking performance. With a time of 29.93 seconds, Rimac says that the Nevera smashes the previous record holder by more than a second.

What makes all of these new record numbers even more impressive, is the fact that they’re all done on normal, non-prepared asphalt, with the road-legal Michelin Cup 2 R tyres that come as standard on the car off the showroom floor. Maintaining over 1G of acceleration all the way up to 200 km/h, and in these conditions? You’ll have to watch the video to believe it.
