Volkswagen ID.7 GTX teased – EV sports sedan, dual-motor AWD

First details of the ID.7 GTX.

Three weeks ago, Volkswagen unveiled to the world the ID.7 all-electric (BEV) sedan, which is the flagship model of the Volkswagen ID. family. But the company doesn’t seem to want to wait any longer and has just teased the hot version of the ID.7, the ID.7 GTX. There aren’t many details released by Volkswagen regarding the ID.7 GTX just yet, as the company has only decided to tease a few highlights of the car.

To differentiate the ID.7 GTX from its ‘regular’ sibling, Volkswagen has given sporty touches to the car. This includes some black gloss elements, a black roof, and darkened windows.

Powering the ID.7 GTX will be a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, which according to the carmaker is aimed to achieve an optimum combination of efficiency, dynamic and driving stability. The EV sports sedan also comes with a vehicle dynamic manager.

The vehicle dynamic manager enables the driver to control the vehicle’s powertrain, braking, steering, as well as the chassis control system, depending on the driving profile selected. Being built on the Modular Electric Drive (MEB) platform, just like the regular ID.7, the running gear and steering are fundamentally enhanced.

As a result, this allows the ID.7 GTX to offer a large bandwidth between comfort and sportiness, according to Volkswagen. However, the carmaker has not shared information regarding the car’s performance figures, driving range, or charging rate as of now.

We will have to wait till Volkswagen releases more details in the future. Inside, GTX treatments given to the ID.7 GTX include red GTX contrast stitchings on the seats, dashboard panel, and doors.

The GTX brand houses Volkswagen’s all-electric performance models, which include the ID.4 GTX, ID.5 GTX and now the ID.7 GTX which will be coming soon. The brand has been part of Volkswagen’s portfolio for two years and is described by the company as a brand that produces dynamic vehicles which combine electric mobility, sustainability, and intelligent sportiness.

The ID.7 GTX is planned to be launched at the IAA Mobility (International Motor Show Germany) in Munich. The motor show will be held from September 5 to 10, 2023. Again, this is just a teaser of the ID.7 GTX, therefore actual details of the car when launched might be subject to change.
