2023 BMW X5 facelift teased with illuminated kidney grilles, to be launched soon?

BMW has taken to social media to give us a glimpse of what the social new facelift BMW X5 would look like when its headlamps, taillights and kidney grilles are illuminated.

Last week, images of the facelift BMW X5 were leaked by an Instagram user revealing slimmer headlamps, with the addition of illuminated kidney grilles. The feature is also similarly offered in the G06 BMW X6.

The current generation G05 BMW X5 has been in Malaysia since May 2019 and was first introduced with the fully-imported X5 xDrive40i variant. Later on, the X5 was sold as the xDrive45e M Sport plug-in hybrid. The latter was locally assembled.

Currently, the X5 xDrive45e M Sport plug-in hybrid is priced at RM456,620 and is powered by a B58 3.0-litre turbocharged straight six engine paired to an electric motor and an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox. Together, they produce 394 hp and 600 Nm, for a 0-100 km/h time of 5.6 seconds. With a 24 kWh battery (compared to 9 kWh from before), the X5 can run purely on electric power for 77 km.
