2023 Perodua Axia – bookings for previous generation will be transferred to new model

The all-new Perodua Axia is now available for booking and here’s what we know at the moment. There will be four variants available, starting from RM38,600 to RM49,000.

Alongside the announcement, Perodua also revealed that the previous generation Axia will no longer be produced by the end of the month. Those who have placed a booking on the old model and are still waiting for it will have their orders transferred to the new model.

That said, with the new Axia being more expensive than before, those who have booked the previous generation model will be subjected to the new price as well. Those who opt to not proceed with the new Axia will have their booking fee refunded.

All variants will be powered by the existing 1KR-VE 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with 67 hp and 91 Nm. New here is a Dual-Mode CVT (D-CVT) gearbox. Manual versions of the Axia could still be produced, although further confirmation will be given through an announcement on a later date.

Other new additions to the new model include LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, keyless entry, retractable side mirrors, and LED turn signals.

Inside, those who opt for the higher variants will also get a seven-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, nine-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On the safety front, the new Axia will be offered with six airbags to now include front, side and curtain airbags. It will also feature ABS, traction control and vehicle stability control systems.
