The 2023 BMW 3 Series facelift is finally here in Malaysia, introducing a revised exterior and interior to the beloved compact executive. Refreshing the BMW 3 series’ exterior is a new set of headlights which are now slimmer and no longer have an indent between the two projectors. The LED DRLs have also been redesigned in the shape of an inverted L.

Between the headlights, the grille now gets a bolder frame and a double vane design. The lower grille gets a hexagonal shape and is much larger than it used to be. On the outside, all three variants of the BMW 3 Series are equipped with the M Sport package with Style 848 M Wheels.

Both the front and rear bumpers have been redesigned, giving the 3 Series a more angular look. The rear gets a new diffuser and new exhaust tips which are 10 mm larger in diameter than they used to be.

Powering the 320i is 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that makes 184 hp and 300 Nm. The 330i also gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine but makes more power at 258 hp and 400 Nm. The PHEV 330e M Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and an electric motor that make a system output of 292 hp and 420 Nm. All variants get an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and all variants are rear-wheel drive (RWD).

Inside, the most drastic change to the BMW 3 Series would be the new curved display that is perched on the dashboard. It houses a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch head unit that runs on BMW’s Operating System 8 and supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The second significant change in the cabin would be the new gear shifter that follows the BMW iX. The good old gear shift knob has been replaced with a more minimalistic substitute. With the introduction of the new curved display, there are also no more shortcut buttons on the dashboard and the LCD screen for the climate display has been omitted.
