One of four EV offerings by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia right now is the Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 4MATIC. Unrivaled in Malaysia for the time being, the EQB lets you ferry seven people around on pure electric drive. Offered in one variant only, the EQB 350 4MATIC fetches a price of RM 328,888.
Powering the car are two electric motors – An induction motor drives the front wheels while a permanent magnet synchronous motor drives the rear wheels. Combined, the electric drive system makes 292 hp (metric) and 520 Nm. With power sent to all four wheels, the EQB 350 4MATIC does the 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 6.2 seconds.
As for power storage, the EQB 350 houses a 66.5-kWh battery pack. On the WLTP cycle, it records an electric range of 423 km. Charging can be done at a maximum rate of 100 kW with a DC fast charger and 11 kW AC charging. With 100-kW DC fast charging, the EQB recharges from 10% to 80% in 32 minutes. With 11-kW AC charging, the car charges from 10% to 100% in 5 hours and 45 minutes.
Based on the Mercedes-Benz GLB, the EQB receives the EQ family genes that give it the front black panel and continuous light design at the front and back. Blue elements in the headlights, Blue ‘EQB’ letterings on the front fenders, and blue strips on the wheels reveal the EQB’s electric nature.

On the inside, the EQB 350 gets twin 10.25-inch displays with one being the infotainment unit and the other being the digital instrument cluster. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are provided and there is also a wireless mobile phone charger. The interior upholstery is a combination of Artico man-made leather, Cupertino fabric, and genuine Nappa leather.
Safety features in the EQB 350 4MATIC include Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active lane keeping assist, Active steering assist, Active blind spot assist, Exit warning function, Active Brake Assist, Adaptive high beam assist, 360° camera, and PARKTRONIC parking assist.
