“The HR-V was first introduced to the Malaysian market in 2015 and with more than 111,000 units sold to date, the HR-V has been the forerunner in the Non-National Compact SUV segment from 2015 to 2021. The facelifted HR-V which was launched in 2019 has sold close to 39,000 units”, said Honda Malaysia, Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura.

The all-new Honda HR-V was launched last February and has since gone on sale in the region in countries like Thailand and Indonesia. While engine specifications have yet to be revealed for the Malaysian market, it’s expected to feature a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine with 121 hp and 145 Nm along with a turbo variant – exciting stuff this.

That’s not all. The hybrid variant of the 2022 HR-V referred to above will feature Honda’s Intelligent Multi Mode Drive featuring a 1.5-litre engine paired to paired to an electric motor just like the City hatchback and sedan but the HR-V is more than just about improved performance.

In terms of dimensions, the crossover will be longer but will have the same wheelbase for extra room in the cabin. It’s also wider than lower before. Exciting new features include a hands-free power tailgate with walk-away close, remote engine start and walk-away auto lock.

The all-new HR-V also steps up with safety, with comprehensive Honda Sensing features such as adaptive cruise control, auto high beam, autonomous braking, and more. It also recently scored a convincing four stars out of five, in the most recent Euro NCAP crash test.
