Mercedes-Benz GLA 200 and GLA 250 CKD updated for 2022 in Malaysia – Lane Keep Assist now standard

GLA 250 AMG Line

Alongside the A-Class sedan, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has also given the GLA SUV a slight refresh for 2022, with both the GLA 200 Progressive Line and GLA 250 AMG Line variants receiving several new features and equipment, just four months after the model was introduced here in Malaysia.

With the new 2022 update, the Mercedes-Benz GLA is now priced from RM241,479 for the GLA 200 Progressive Line, and RM271,164 for the GLA 250 AMG Line, making them RM9,000 and RM5,000 dearer compared to when the CKD model was first launched here on our shores.

GLA 200 Progressive Line

The updates on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLA are pretty much in the same vein as the A-Class sedan, with the entry-level GLA 200 Progressive Line adding the 64-colour ambient lighting system, wireless charging pad, Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keep Assist, and Adaptive High Beam Assist to its equipment list.

Active Lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive High Beam is also now available on the GLA 250 AMG Line, although the rest of the range-topping variant’s equipment list remains unchanged from before.

Both variants are unchanged mechanically, with the GLA 200 still retaining the Renault-sourced 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder mill with 163 hp and 250 Nm paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Meanwhile, the GLA 250 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four engine making 224 hp and 350 Nm, paired to an eight-speed DCT.
