PERFORMANCE

  • Engine: 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated falt-four boxer engine
  • Transmission: Lineartronic CVT
  • Max Power: 156 hp @ 6,000 rpm
  • Max Torque: 196 Nm @ 4,000 rpm

EXTERIOR

New to the 2021 XV is the revised front grille and 17-inch wheel design. The updated XV now also comes with a tilt-down function for the passenger side mirror when engaging reverse.

If you opt for the XV GT Edition, the 17-inch wheel design remains unchanged from before. Also part of the GT Edition body kit is the front lip, side skirts, rear spoiler, and rear splitter. Making up the exterior are LED head and taillights, roof rails, auto headlamps with cornering lights, and headlamp washers. Ground clearance is rated at 220 mm, the same as most pick-ups.

INTERIOR

New to the interior is the Auto Vehicle Hold switch by the gear lever, and 8-way powered seats for the driver with memory function. Standard features include an improved 8-inch infotainment display with 6 speakers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In the standard XV, the interior comes with fabric upholstery finished with orange stitching but in the XV GT Edition, you get leather seats. The new XV also comes with paddle shifters, X Mode selector for Mud, Snow, Sand, and Dirt.

SAFETY

By far the most important (new) addition to the Subaru XV is the EyeSight driver assistance system, like in the Forester. It comes with adaptive cruise control, autonomous braking, lane departure warning, and lane sway warning.

Also part of the system is the Pre-collision Throttle Management feature in case the driver accidentally steps on the throttle instead of brakes and Lead Vehicle Start feature that alerts the driver when the vehicle ahead has moved more than three metres ahead. The airbag count remains at seven, consisting of front airbags, side airbags, curtain airbags, and the driver’s knee airbag.
