Video: Mercedes-Benz GLA200 & GLA250 launched in Malaysia, 5 Things

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched the new locally assembled variants of the GLA – the G200 Progressive line from RM232,379 and GLA 250 AMG Line from RM266,164.

The GLA 200 Progressive Line gets a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine with 163 hp and 250 Nm paired to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. On the other hand, the GLA 250 AMG Line gets a more powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, paired to 8-speed dual clutch transmission with 224 hp and 350 Nm. The latter can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds!

The exterior remains unchanged for both variants, with the A250 wearing a sportier AMG Line body kit, 19-inch wheels and lowered suspension. The GLA 250 also sports a completely different shape and design for the front grille; trapezoid with chrome pins instead of the octagonal grille in the GLA 200.

On the inside, both variants still come with a single zone air conditioning system unlike the A Class Sedan which has been upgraded with a dual zone system. It goes without saying that the GLA 250 is furnished with a sportier interior made up of AMG floor mats, a flat-bottom steering wheel and seats with leather and suede upholstery.
