New 2021 Range Rover Velar loaded with extra goodies

First introduced here three years ago in 2019, Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia has revealed some updates and changes to the Range Rover Velar 2.0L R-Dynamic model.

Among them is the Electronic Air Suspension that can lower or increase the SUVs ride height by up to 50 mm. These ride height changes can be done via the infotainment display, physical controls in the boot area or through the key fob. When cruising above 105 km/h, the air suspension will automatically drop the Velar’s height by 10 mm.

Another addition that supplements ride comfort is the Active Road Noise Cancellation system that comes as standard with the Meridian Sound System. The feature basically works like a pair of noise cancellation headphones.

Also new is the Wade Sensing system, which uses ultrasonic sensors by the side mirrors, to alert the driver of the water depth via the touchscreen infotainment display. Speaking of the infotainment system, the Velar’s all-new Pivi Pro infotainment system offers plenty of customised options, including allowing two smartphones to be connected at once.

The infotainment system has also been upgraded to feature 3D Surround Camera and the highly amusing ClearSight Ground View feature which allows users to see what’s under the car.

New design touches include a new toggle shifter and steering wheel design with integrated smart buttons and a “hands-on wheel detection” feature.

The 2.0-litre R-Dynamic model retains the same P250 turbocharged powertrain, translating to 249 hp and 365 Nm. The turbocharged engine drives all-four wheels via an 8-speed ZF gearbox.

The new 2021 Range Rover Velar 2.0-litre R-Dynamic model starts from RM612,207.74, inclusive of SST exemptions.
