The new apps will offers owners remote access to their vehicles for features such as Active Charging, Climate Timer, Vehicle Finder, Remote Engine Start, Remote Software Updates, and Remote Engine Start.
Users can also manage their service intervals and receive recall alerts via the apps. In the event of an emergency, users can also reach out to BMW and MINI Roadside Assistance via the apps.
E-mobility features allows users to monitor fuel/battery level, range, charging station and even charging history. Owners of electrified BMW and MINI vehicles can also benefit from features that can inform of the nearest parking, charging spots, and charging station details.
A Range Circle feature helps users identify destinations that can be reached within the current range, based on the current location.
Specifically for BMW owners, users can also pair their BMW Digital Key with the new My BMW app, but it’s only limited to smartphones running iOS.
The new apps by MINI and BMW will replace the MINI Connected and BMW Connected apps beginning July this year. Those who are currently using the MINI and BMW Connected apps will not need to register for the new apps which are now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
