Video: The New Nissan Navara PRO-4X, First Look

After making its debut in Thailand and then to Australia, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has previewed the Nissan Navara PRO-4X into Malaysia.

There is plenty to be excited about this new variant that looks sharp and macho, both the outside and inside. The front is dominated by a variant-specific chunky black grille, while new quad-LED projector headlights with new C-shaped DRLs are a highlight in the new facelift Navara model.

The PRO-4X will have exclusive 17-inch rims wrapped with all-terrain (AT) tyres, with the rear continued to be suspended by the multi-link coil spring suspension. Nissan has delivered significant improvements to the area, fitting dual-rate coil springs that are said to reduce “body toss”, improved stability and ride comfort whilst handling on par with SUVs. Payload has also been increased to 1.1 tonnes.

Underneath the bonnet, the new Navara PRO-4X is powered by the existing YD25 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, generating outputs of 190 hp and 450 Nm of torque. The powertrain is paired to a seven-speed automatic transmission with manual mode and shift-on-the-fly electronically-controlled 4WD transfer case.

The Nissan Navara PRO-4X includes features such as forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Intelligent Around View Monitor with Off-Road mode.

ETCM has not listed the price of this looker, as the PRO-4X and the rest of the Navara facelift line-up in Malaysia is only due for an official launch on April 16th.
