Grey surroundings, thumping noises on the roof, and a windscreen that’s entirely smudged with rainwater – the torrential rain gods are back with their “blessings” again. Worse, flick the wiper stalk and all you get is a screechy noise and a windscreen that’s as blurry as an 80-year old’s vision.

If you’re looking to splurge a little for that high definition view in low visibility conditions, instead of “silicon wipers” sold from the back of a car that’s permanently parked by the roadside, Bosch may just have a few options for you.

For starters, there’s the Clear Advantage series. Bosch says it’ll perform as many as 200,000 wipe cycles and still perform as well as brand new. It’s made of natural rubber and comes with Aerodynamic Symmetrical Wind Spoiler technology that uses airflow to increase the “blade to windscreen” contact.

Next is the Aero Twin range. It’s been designed with reduced surface area to minimise wind noise when the vehicle is on the move and also to perform a more uniform wiping action. These are perfect for cars without the traditional “U-hook” wiper arm as these wipers come with pre-assembled vehicle-specific adaptors.

Lastly, there’s the Aero Twin Plus which promises to be 40% longer lasting than other flat blade wipers. It’s been finished with Power Protection Plus wiper-rubber technology for smoother and more quiet wiping action.
