Honda Malaysia gave us a brief preview yesterday of the highly-anticipated all-new Honda City, more specifically the RS i-MMD variant, which will be launched in the coming months.

Estimated prices were not revealed and neither was the interior but based on the exterior alone, there’s plenty to be excited about. For starters, we’re the first country in the world to receive the City with a dual electric motor i-MMD powertrain which doesn’t come with a conventional gearbox.

There should be little concern for performance as the all-new 1.5-litre engine makes 98 hp and 127 Nm while the electric motor which will be used primarily to drive the car, makes 109 hp and 253 Nm. As for the combined figures, we’ll just have to wait for the launch.

There won’t be any lack of attention either with the all-new City as with this RS bodykit, the 7th-generation City is probably the most aggressive and sporty looking City yet. In terms of dimensions, the new City is now lower, wider and longer but with a shorter wheelbase.

Like what you see? The new Honda City is now available for booking and will be on tour around Malaysia from the 29th of August till the 20th of September. Following the recent Sales Tax Exemption, for the latest price list of Honda vehicles in Malaysia, click here.
