GoCar and Shell to provide free car usage, petrol to medical front liners

In an effort to support our local medical front liners in their war against the COVID-19 pandemic, GoCar Malaysia and Shell Malaysia are joining forces to help make their daily commute easier.

Starting now until the 14th of April (when the MCO is scheduled to end), GoCar is offering 200 Nissan Almera located at 127 Shell petrol stations across Peninsular Malaysia free of charge to the medical workers, while Shell will be topping up with a complimentary petrol e-voucher.

healthcare personnel can register via GoCar’s website for verification. The initiative covers healthcare frontliners including doctors, nurses, physicians, pharmacists, laboratory technicians and administrative staff.

Once registered, registrants will receive a GoCar promo code worth RM483 – sufficient for seven consecutive days of booking, followed by a RM30 Shell Fuel e-voucher, both delivered via email on a first-come first-serve basis.

GoCar Malaysia CEO, Alan Cheah said, “At GoCar, we strive to act fast to give back to the community in any way possible, now more than ever.

“As our frontliners continue working tirelessly for us, we are doing our part to keep them safe by helping them travel in isolation in GoCars with Shell supporting the necessary petrol needed,” he added.

Cheah also assures that all GoCar vehicles are sanitised regularly for the safety of all GoCar members. The company is also placing and replenishing anti-bacterial wet tissues in each car for the convenience of all users.

Shell Malaysia Managing Director, Shairan Huzaini Husain said, “We are all striving to do what we can to heed the nation’s call to flatten the COVID-19 curve, and Shell is undertaking this initiative to ensure our nation’s health frontliners are able to go well in their journeys to the battleground of this pandemic.”

Shell recently concluded its nationwide donation drive with BonusLink, while continuously contributing care packages to the front liners. The petroleum company is now working to provide face masks to Shell Fleet Card customers and commercial truckers.
