Volvo Cars reveals updated S90 sedan

Changes to the Volvo S90’s aging looks include a reworked exterior design and a new banging Bowers and Wilkins sound system.

The new S90 features new fog lights and tail light graphics, new spoiler design and a new lower front bumper. A 48-volt mild hybrid powertrain option that offers up to 15% fuel savings, is also now available for every Volvo model.

The new Bowers and Wilkins sound system on the other hand includes an upgraded amplifier, automatic vehicle noise cancellation and a new setting that “mimics the sound of your favourite jazz club”.

Another addition to the updated model is the Advanced Air Cleaner with a PM 2.5 particle sensor which was first developed for the Chinese market although they probably need more potent protection now.

The Advanced Air Cleaner system can clean the cabin air of almost all tiny particles within a few minutes while the cabin air quality can be monitored via the centre screen.

Both the new sound system and Advanced Air Cleaner are now available on all 90 and 60 series models. These models will also now be equipped with wireless charging functions along with dual USB-C ports that replace the 12-volt outlets.
