The new Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Coupe 4MATIC is just as good looking but smarter

Aside from launching two new Mercedes-Benz GLC models, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia also introduced the new and improved, locally-assembled GLC 300 Coupe 4MATIC.

The single-variant GLC 300 Coupe 4MATIC is powered similarly by the new M264 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with 258 hp and 370 Nm of torque. As its name suggests, power finds its way to all four wheels via a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.

Aside from the sloping roofline, the equipment list on the GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe is identical to the GLC 300 4MATIC. The new grille is flanked by a pair of new MULTIBEAM LED headlamps while the Night Package gives the car black trims all around. A set of new 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels complete the exterior makeover.

Like its non-coupe sibling, the AMG Line interior package dresses the interior with AMG floor mats and an AMG super-sport nappa leather steering wheel.

However, there are no wood trims here – to not dull the Coupe’s sportier appeal. In keeping with the times, the instrument cluster is now a 12.3-inch unit capable of three display styles: Classic, Progressive and Sporty.

Like the GLC 200 and 300 4MATIC, the Coupe also gets the new Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system on a 10.25-inch touchscreen display.

Mercedes me connect (Mmc) is another highlight. It’s a feature that connects the car with your smartphone via an app where it allows you to start your engine remotely, check fuel levels and more through the in-built LTE module.

Most older cars up to 2002 can also receive the service via the Mercedes me Adapter that is available for purchase. It is easy to use too; just plug it into the OBD2 port, although some functions, like remote start, may not be available.

New features like Active Parking Assist is available, and it also gets items like the 360° camera, Active Lane Keeping Assist and more to keep current its safety equipment.

The facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Coupe 4MATIC is priced at RM419,888 on-the-road without insurance.
