Hankook Tire has introduced the latest iteration of their ultra-high performance (UHP) tyres in Malaysia, the Ventus Prime 3 (K125). Hankook claims that the tyre is designed to deliver the perfect balance between performance, comfort and safety.
To achieve that audacious claim, The K125 features four channel grooves for rapid water drainage, and the grooves are also optimised for each tyre position to minimize the trade-off between dry and wet performance.
The tread block stiffness has been enhanced to improve dry handling and braking performance, while the main groove positioning is specifically tuned for reduced pattern noise even after wear.
A high-grip silica compound is used in the Hankook Ventus Prime 3 for lower rolling resistance, while also providing improved dry and wet traction.
The Hankook Ventus Prime 3 has been recognised worldwide by various awards, including the Red Dot Award for Product Design in 2016, first place in the 2018 summer tire test held by Germany’s automobile magazine Auto Bild, as well as top overall mark “Good” from the German Automobile Club (ADAC) in the 2018 summer tire test.
According to a Hankook Tire spokesperson, the Ventus Prime 3 will be available in sizes ranging from 15 to 19 inches, where the larger two sizes are suitable for SUV applications as well. Pricing starts from RM180 per piece for the K125, and is now available at all authorised Hankook dealers and workshops.
