Video: Range Rover Velar P250 R-Dynamic SUV review

It’s not hard to see why the Range Rover Velar won the World Car Design Award in 2018 – it’s not easy to fault how it looks from every angle.

The one thing we missed most about the Velar, is the way it rides and how it makes you feel within the opulent confinements of the cabin.

There’s just an air of superiority that its cheaper rivals, such as the Mercedes-Benz GLC and BMW X3, just aren’t capable of offering. That alone we think, justifies the Velar’s price tag that’s almost twice as much as its BMW and Mercedes-Benz counterparts.

And then there’s the way it drives. Despite only having a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with 247 hp and 365 Nm to haul its heft – not once did the Velar feel inadequate or inferior when the roads opened up or when tackling pesky tailgaters on our roads.

As for the rest, we’ll leave it to you to find out in this video. Have we mentioned how good the Velar looks?
