Renault Subscription: All the car, none of the commitment

TC Euro Cars, the official distributor of Renault vehicles in Malaysia has just introduced the first-ever car subscription plan directly from a manufacturer in the country. Called Renault Subscription, the subscription plan(s) offers customers an alternative mobility solution without having to commit to long-term loan tenures, rigid lock-ins and depreciation costs.

Presently, the Renault Captur and Koleos are available under Renault Subscription and customers have a choice of two plans – Fixed and Switch. The former is a straightforward subscription plan where customers place a security deposit, determine the subscription tenure (1- or 2-years) and pay the monthly fee.

Under the Fixed Plan, the Captur can be had from as low as RM1,299 monthly and the Koleos from RM2,299 monthly. The subscription fee is inclusive of Insurance, Road Tax, Maintenance and a mileage cap of 20,000 km per annum.

TC Euro Cars also offers customers the flexibility to switch between its compact (Captur) and flagship (Koleos) SUV under the Switch Plan. With a security deposit of RM3,500 and a monthly subscription of RM1,999, customers can subscribe to the Captur for 1-Year with the option to switch to a Koleos for 2 months. Like the Fixed Plan, the fee covers Insurance, Road Tax and Maintenance with the addition of unlimited mileage wear and tear coverage.

Renault Subscription is not the first of its kind in the country. Earlier, GoCar introduced a monthly subscription plan for its fleet of vehicles. However, the biggest difference between the two here is the support from the manufacturer (distributor) itself with the Renault Subscription which guarantees the customers a worry-free and zero additional costs (Switch Plan) ownership experience with matters related to aftersales service throughout the subscription.
