Lynk & Co 03+ is the sportiest road car they’ve made so far

Lynk & Co shows that they are serious about building high-performance and exhilarating vehicles with the unveiling of the Lynk & Co 03+ at the 2019 Shenzhen Innovative Auto Show (IAS).

The 03+ is the most potent entry-level sedan from the Geely-Volvo sub-brand. It is said to pack Volvo’s Drive-E 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine packing 254 hp and 350 Nm of torque – the same tune found on Volvo’s T5 models.

An 8-speed automatic transmission and the all-wheel-drive system sends the car sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, that’s Honda Civic Type R territory. The 03+ is also said to feature a new Track Mode for maximum attack around a circuit.

Besides the unique Gold paintwork, the 03+ also features carbon fibre parts for the front splitters, side skirt, rear diffuser and rear spoiler. It also wears larger wheels and quad exhausts outlets at the back. While the new aero kit adds to the car’s downforce at top speed, the drag coefficient of the car remains unchanged at 0.28 Cd.

Inside, the car also gets a makeover with generous cladding of Alcantara, Yellow stitching with “+” emblems as well as dedicated graphics on the digital screens.

While the new Lynk & Co 03+ looks like a decent attempt from the fastest growing brand in the world, this is only a sneak peek into what they can do. The company is said to be working on an even hotter version of the 03 and that’s not even the 500 hp concept car that Cyan Racing is involved with.
