Ferrari’s twin-turbo V8 wins International Engine of the year, again



Ferrari has done something no other manufacturer has achieved – taking the overall title for International Engine & Powertrain of the Year award for the fourth consecutive year at the 21st edition of the awards.

The hand build 3,902cc twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine first debuted in the Ferrari 488GTB and subsequently found its way to the 488 Spider, 488 Pista and 488 Pista Spider. Output ranges from 670 hp/760 Nm to 720 hp/770 Nm in the Pista. The same engine was also named Performance Engine of the Year and Best Power Unit over 650 hp.

Ferrari’s other V8 with 3,855cc in capacity found in the Portofino and GTC4Lusso T also received the Best Power Unit for 550 to 650 hp category. The 3,855cc V8 also packs two turbochargers and generates up to 610 hp and 760 Nm of torque.
