Maybe the life of an expat isn’t all it’s cracked up to be as Nissan held an extraordinary shareholders meeting to strip its former chairman and CEO, Carlos Ghosn, of the remaining position as director of the board – the same person credited for turning around an ailing Nissan at the turn of the century.

But things are going to get a lot more absorbing in the coming days as Ghosn, incarcerated at a detention cell after being re-arrested four days ago by authorities on the suspicion of further financial misconduct, plans to release a ‘tell all’ video through his lawyers and to publicly name those ‘responsible for his downfall’.
This comes after Japanese prosecutors requested for the co-operation of Ghosn’s wife, Carole, on fresh investigations into alleged misuse of company funds. Mrs. Ghosn was reported to have fled Tokyo over the weekend with the help of the French ambassador. As they say, stay tuned for more.
