James Bond’s next Aston Martin might be fully electric

Although not his first car, we can’t imagine agent 007 to roll around in anything else than an Aston Martin. Over the years, Britain big screen secret agent has been seen in a DB5, Vantage Volante, Vanquish and DB10.

For the upcoming 25th Bond film, we may see James Bond chasing the bad guys sustainably and in complete silence. Britain’s Sun newspaper reported that the film’s director Cary Joji Fukunaga is looking to put the Bond character, played by Daniel Craig, in an all-electric Aston Martin Rapide E.

The Rapide E is driven by two electric motors mounted on the rear axle giving the four-door saloon over 610 hp and 950 Nm of torque. Aston Martin claims that the Rapide E can do the century sprint in under 4 seconds and register a top speed of 250 km/h.

Aston Martin has confirmed that they will be building 155 units of the Rapide E but did not confirm whether the car will make an appearance in the movie.

With the Rapide E, the secret agent can silently creep up to the bad guys and catch them off guard, but the issue is that he’ll have to find a charging station every 322 km (200 miles).
