BRABUS, the German performance tuning house has just unleashed their latest beast, the BRABUS 600 SUV. Based on the already performance-oriented Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S, the BRABUS 600 kit dials performance to 11.
Starting with the oily bits, the M177 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 of Mercedes-AMG is boosted to 600 hp and 800 Nm, 90 hp and 100 Nm more when the car first rolled out of the factory floors. This is courtesy of a software calibration that introduces new mapping for the injection and ignition as well as moderately increased boost pressure.
The result is a century sprint time of 3.6 seconds (0.2 seconds quicker than standard) with an electronically governed top speed of 300 km/h. These blistering numbers are coupled with the BRABUS stainless-steel Sport Exhaust that reduces exhaust backpressure and features electronically controlled flaps to control the exhaust note.
There is also a “Coming Home” mode that keeps the decibel at minimal when you need to be discreet. But leaving a car meet, you would want the exhaust in its loudest setting that unleashes all the acoustic potential from the twin-turbo V8.
The BRABUS 600 kit is available for both the SUV and Coupe body styles, both getting the same visual enhancement such as carbon fibre front bumpers, front splitters, carbon side intakes and dual naked-carbon rear diffusers. Wheel options for the BRABUS 600 range from 19 to 22-inches, all wrapped in Ultra-High-Performance Tyres from BRABUS technology partners: Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA.
BRABUS has also introduced a special control module for the AIRMATIC air suspension that lowers the cars overall ride height by 30 mm to give the all-wheel-drive SUV a lower stance and improved driving dynamics thanks to lower centre of gravity.
The cabin you see here is a box standard interior from Mercedes-AMG but BRABUS offers a wide range of customisation options ranging from wrapping the upholstery with fine Mastik leather to custom accessories like aluminium door-lock pins.
Customers can opt to purchase a complete car (SUV or Coupe) outright from BRABUS or have their Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S transformed all at once or in stages.
