Proton opens its doors to the first 4S centre in Malaysia



Proton has officially opened its first ever 4S dealer outlet here in Kampung Subang, Selangor. Setia Gemilang Auto Sdn Bhd opens its doors as the first Proton 4S dealer outlet, carrying a new and refreshed corporate image of the national carmaker.

The new outlet marks the new standards set by Proton under the new leadership of Chief Executive Officer of Proton, Dr Li Chunrong. The new look carries new colours that represent a global lifestyle, technology-driven, youthful exuberance and caring attitude which reflects a fresher, more dynamic and bolder Proton.

Dr Li said at the opening: “I am pleased that the upgrading exercise of the new 4S and 3S outlet are progressing well especially with excellent team effort displayed by our Dealers together with the team from Proton. The new set up will stand to attract more people to the outlet, as consumers usually like to see and experience new things, new surroundings, new look and feel; and better ambience.”

Covering a land area of two acres, the new facility can accommodate 11 display cars, 50 customer parking space, 14 service hoists, 12 body and paint bays and a 30-seat customer lounge. There is also a dedicated kids’ corner, coffee area and free Wi-Fi for the convenience of waiting customers.

Director of Setia Gemilang Auto Sdn Bhd, Andrew Quek said: “Today is one of the happiest days of my life, as finally, the Setia Gemilang outlet has successfully upgraded to meet the new standard requirements of a Proton 4S outlet. A lot of work has been put in to ensure what we witnessed today, materialise.”

The continuous upgrading works of existing Proton dealers to 3S and 4S outlets is part of the company’s direction to upgrade its outlets nationwide to a total of 109 outlets of 3S and 4S status in anticipation of the upcoming Proton SUV.
