If you’re of a certain high net worth and luxury SUVs are your thing, then you’re about to get even more spoilt for choice. Mercedes-Maybach has just made your selection even more difficult with the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept.
Unveiled at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show and aimed largely at China’s elite, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury combines the DNA of a SUV and a saloon car.
The Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury is conceived as an electric car with four compact permanent-magnet synchronous motors thus making it all-wheel drive. Output is rated at 750 hp while top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
And you do notice it – it looks like a limousine on stilts. Onto the finer details, the front radiator grille has been designed with fine vertical bars to mimic a pinstripe suit; as seen in the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 revealed recently.
The concept model rides on 24-inch “turbine look” wheels and is fitted with electrically-extending door handles. What stands out the most are its split folding rear windscreen – reminiscent of the classic Volkswagen Beetle.
Inside, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury is draped in crystal white nappa leather, finished in rose gold diamond stitching. The mix of Western and Eastern influence can be seen with the use of ebony “Magic Wood” – a traditional material for Chinese furniture.
