Polestar, the new electric performance brand has just announced that the Polestar 1 is now available for pre-order in 18 countries, where customers can place their deposits and be in-queue for the hybrid GT Coupe when the car is ready to roll off the production line.
The 18 lucky countries are China, United States, Sweden, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Portugal, Poland, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and Canada. Yep, no luck for us in Malaysia.
Along with the opening pre-orders, customers will be greeted with a car configurator tool to allow them to visualise their Polestar before placing their €2,500 (RM12k) deposit. Besides the conventional buy-and-own ownership model, customers can also drive a Polestar through a no-deposit, all-inclusive subscription plan that provides hassle-free usage, covering insurance, depreciation, collection and delivery for inclusive servicing. No further details on the subscription plan were available at press time.
The Polestar 1 is a high-performance hybrid Grand Tourer that belts 600 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque while offering 150 km of pure electric driving range – the longest of any hybrid car in the world. The new car will roll out of Polestar’s manufacturing facility in Chengdu, China – the same facility where Volvo assembles their 60-series models.
