Shortly after releasing the interior gallery of the next-generation G-Class, Mercedes-Benz will unveil the car in full on 15 January 2018 at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

In a teaser video titled “Stronger Than Time | The Amber Cube”, it featured the first-generation G-Class fossilised in an amber cube hinting at the model’s timelessness. Earlier, Mercedes-Benz said the G-Class has “changed very little” but the DNA of the legendary off-road vehicle lives on.

The company has unveiled the interior of the G-Class in full. Notable highlights include a new-generation dashboard layout, Widescreen Cockpit, new steering wheel with touchpads, turbine-styled air vents, front passenger grab handles and many more.

The new-gen G-Class also gets a significantly roomier interior with key measurements as below:

Description Difference
Legroom – front + 38 mm
Legroom – rear + 150 mm
Shoulder width – front + 38 mm
Shoulder width – rear + 27 mm

It won’t be long now till the new-gen “Godfather of SUVs” is presented to the world in full. Locally, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has the full-blown G 63 AMG on sale for a cool RM1.18 million.
