Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo sets new Nurburgring record

We’ve seen a myriad of records set at the Nurburgring this year as more and more manufacturers are opting for the Nurburgring as the proving ground of their latest high performance offerings.

There was the highly-anticipated FK8 Civic Type R as the fastest FWD vehicle around the famous track, the Porsche GT2 RS as the fastest RWD and the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio as the fastest production SUV.

It doesn’t stop there; recently, the Mercedes-AMG E63S Estate was crowned the fastest wagon around the ring while the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 was crowned the fastest saloon around the 20.8 km track. Even the Chinese had a piece of the action with the world’s fastest EV in the NIO EP9.

And then we have this, the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo. It recently set a record for the fastest time around the Nurburgring while towing a trailer containing a classic Porsche Junior 108 tractor!

Conducted by trailer company Moetefindt, the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo displayed its (towing) prowess with a 12 minutes 6 seconds time around the track, hitting speeds of up to 180 km/h.
