Official pictures of the all-new Suzuki Swift Sport released, to debut in September

Not long after the global debut of the fourth-generation Suzuki Swift, Suzuki Motor Corporation confirmed that the hotter Swift Sport will make its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show happening in September. The company has just released official images of the upcoming hot hatch before its debut.

Now in it’s third-generation, the Swift Sport is completely redesigned from the ground up and promises “all-new levels of excitement for sport-minded drivers across the world”; highlighting that the new variant will also be a global model. Like the regular Swift, the new Swift Sport will ride on Suzuki’s “HEARTECT” platform that is stronger and safer than before.

Based on the images, the new Swift Sport gets a more angular front-end design, front lip, side skirts, new rear bumper and dual-exhaust outlets. The extra bits are finished with a carbon-fibre like appearance. It also gets a set of diamond cut alloys to set itself apart from its regular siblings.

Inside, the most obvious difference are the red trims (silver on regular models) and red background tachometer. It also gets red stitchings and more supportive front seats with a “Sport” embroidery at the headrest.

Suzuki is keeping the car’s technical details a corporate secret although rumour has it that the 1.4-litre Boosterjet petrol engine from the Vitara S will be employed here. Stay tuned for the full reveal of the Suzuki Swift Sport in September! Unfortunately, Suzuki is no longer represented here in Malaysia but we can always keep our hopes up.
