3 things you’d want to know about Goodyear’s new tyres for the SUV segment

So Goodyear has launched it’s latest tyre in Thailand recently to cater to the luxury SUV segment; its called the EfficientGrip Performance SUV, and for good reason.

Following the launch of the all-rounded Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 tyres, the new Efficient Grip focuses on the SUV market which has shown no signs of slowing down with annual growth rates of 26% from 2012 to 2017 in the Asia Pacific region. Promising to deliver a quieter driving experience with maximised comfort and sublime wet braking performance, here’s 3 things you should know about the new EfficientGrip Performance SUV before you’re next SUV tyre change:

It’s QuietTred Technology helps minimise that humming noise

The annoying tyre noise you hear from within the vehicle’s cabin comes from the release of air trapped in the thread patterns as the tyres are rolling on the road. The QuietTred technology minimises this with an increased number of pitches with optimised distribution, coupled with closed grooves and shoulder design – this reduced noise generation, creating a quieter ride.

It’s improved footprint shape and pressure distribution also results in lesser vibrations and improved tyre longevity.

It maximises comfort with FlexContact technology

Designed with FlexContact, the tyres come with a shock absorbing cushion layer compound with increased insulation of the tyre structure. It’s also equipped with an innovative hexagonal bead shape to enhance rim contact – with the aim to reduce tyre vibrations for a more comfortable ride.

Equipped with cutting edge technology for superior wet performance

The new EfficientGrip comes with optimised microstructures with the application of new innovative polymers within the high-performance cap compound for improved grip on wet conditions. Wider and reinforced shoulder blocks with wider centerline sipes offers increased contact area during braking, allowing the car to stop faster and safer.

Available sizes

The EfficientGrip Performance SUV tyres will be available for 17-inch to 20-inch rim diameters in the Malaysian market with 20 different sizes offered. Consumers can purchase the EfficientGrip Performance SUV tires at Goodyear Autocare or Servitekar outlets, as well as authorized Goodyear dealers nationwide from October 2017 onwards.
