For those who adore open top motoring but find the existing Mercedes-Benz SLC range a little lacking in punch, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has the solution for you. Enter the Mercedes-AMG SLC 43, the most potent SLC money can buy, yet.
What AMG has done with the little roadster is slapping on a 3.0-litre bi-turbo V6 that churns out 367 hp and 520 Nm. Power is channelled to the rear wheels via a nine-speed G-Tronic automatic. Key performance figures include a 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of 4.7 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

Mercedes-AMG did not just slap on a twin-turbo V6 onto the SLC and call it a day, though, because the suspension is also heavily updated to improve dynamics. The SLC 43 now comes with AMG-specific front and rear axles, engine mounts as well as a rear differential. It also gets AMG sports suspension lifted off the SLK 55. These components are designed to complement the high lateral acceleration of the SLC 43 as well as reduce body roll.
Visually, the SLC 43 is dressed in AMG Night-Package that includes the diamond radiator grille and AMG body kit. LED Intelligent Light System headlamps, underbody protection, AMG lip spoiler and 18-inch AMG multi-spoke lightweight alloys are standard fitment.
The interior upholstery is finished in Nappa leather while the AMG interior package with carbon fibre trim comes as standard. Besides that, the SLC 43 is equipped with AMG multifunctional steering wheel (Nappa leather), ambient lighting, powered front seats, keyless entry and start, 7.0-inch infotainment with Harman Kardon surround sound system and reverse camera.
Mercedes-Benz has equipped the retractable roof with Magic Sky Control which changes the opacity of the panoramic glass roof with a touch of a button to give an open-air feeling without having to put the roof down. The auto-folding roof is able to operate at speeds of up to 40 km/h.
