2017 MINI JCW Countryman launched in UK, 231 hp & 350 Nm, all-wheel drive

Unveiled earlier this year, the MINI John Cooper Works Countryman has just been made available for the UK buyers with a base price of £30,675.

Externally the JCW Countryman is dressed with the JCW kit that comprises of front and rear bumpers and a roof spoiler, as well as 18-inch JCW light alloy wheels. A set of bigger 19-inch wheels is optional, but regardless of wheel size, all JCW Countryman comes with Brembo brakes with red-painted calipers. Meanwhile the cabin receives JCW sports seats, JCW sports steering wheel, and JCW gear lever.

Under the bonnet, the TwinPower Turbo 2.0-litre 4-cylinder is the same unit found in the JCW hatchback and the JCW Clubman, delivering 231 hp and 350 Nm. As standard, the JCW Countryman is fitted with All4 all-wheel drive system and a 6-speed manual transmission, with an 8-speed automatic transmission available as an option. Surprisingly both the manual and auto variant get from nought to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.

As mentioned, in UK the JCW Countryman is priced from £30,675 (approximately RM170,500). Closer to home we saw the Countryman made its ASEAN premiere at the recent 2017 Bangkok International Motor Show, with prices that start from ฿2,339,000 (approximately RM301,540) for the Cooper variant. The Countryman is expected to be launched here in Malaysia very soon.
