It didn’t take long for McLaren’s customisation division – McLaren Special Operations (MSO) – to work their magic on the newly launched McLaren 720S, the brand’s second-generation Super Series. So here it is, a bespoke 720S by MSO finished in a unique “Velocity” theme.
“The MSO mission is to fulfil customer desire for exclusivity in their choice of McLaren,” explained Ansar Ali, MSO’s Managing Director. To truly give weight to those words, the sub-brand has produced this “Velocity” 720S. “Velocity” is a two-tone paintjob with the upper half of the body panels finished in Nerello Red while the lower and rear section of the car is painted Volcano Red.
Complementing the unique pearlescent hues of red are the metallic bronze five twin-spoke lightweight alloy wheels measuring 19-inch at the front and 20-inch at the rear. This 720S “Velocity” gets all the carbon fibre exterior bits including the red carbon fibre bonnet. The Rear Deck Vent, Service Cover, rear aero bridge are all finished in gloss carbon fibre while the Full Length Sill Cover gets a satin carbon fibre finish.
Inside, the cabin gets the full MSO treatment. The upholstery is now Carbon Black Alcantara with Harissa Red leather contrast stitching to match with the “Velocity” exterior theme.
How much for all these you ask? A cool £335,000 (RM1.81 mil), that means this car is fitted with £126,400 (RM685k) worth of options! Guess that’s one way to ensure that you have a truly special car.
