Porsche Malaysia (Sime Darby Auto Performance Sdn Bhd) has just introduced the Platinum Edition trim for the Cayenne range, with a base pricing of RM698k. A quick check on their website reveals at least five trims receiving this kit, and only for a limited time period.

Standard equipment include a sportier 20-inch RS Spyder wheels, active bi-xenon headlamps with four-point LED DRLs, Power Steering Plus and ParkAssist for the front and back. Also thrown in the mix are powered leather sports seats, Alcantara centre panels with the Porsche crest on all headrests.

There are two exterior colours available as standard – Solid Black and Solid White. Metallic paints are optional, beginning with Deep Black, Purpurite, Mahogany, Carrera White or Rhodium Silver. All Platinum Editions come with a high gloss finish, with the wheel arches finished in the same chosen paint colour.

Exclusive to this limited-run Cayenne are the stainless steel door sills with “Platinum Edition” lettering. Fitted for free is the latest-generation Porsche Communication Management which includes online navigation and Connect Plus module for smartphone pairing.

The Platinum Edition trim can be had for the Cayenne, Cayenne S, Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne Diesel S and Cayenne S E-Hybrid. Prices start from RM698k (that’s for the entry level Cayenne) before road tax and insurance. All purchases come with a 4-Year warranty and free maintenance package.

And oh, it’s pronounced Kei-yen, not Kah-yen. Just like the pepper.
