Special edition Ferrari LaFerrari “Spyder” unveiled for the first time!

What you see before your eyes are the official pictures for the open-top Ferrari LaFerrari, or the Spyder variant of Maranello’s hottest road-legal hypercar to date. If you’re eyeing for one, we’re sorry to report that all examples have already been snapped up at a private client preview.

No price nor specifications have been revealed at this point, but all will be disclosed when it debuts under the Paris Motor Show spotlight. This limited edition open-top can be had with a removable carbon-fibre hard top and a removable soft top. As with all convertibles, significant modifications have been done to the chassis in order to maintain torsional rigidity. Some aerodynamic design tweaks were also needed to achieve the same drag coefficient when driving with the top down.2016 Ferrari La Ferrari Spyder - AutoBuzz.my

As for its powertrain, the LaFerrari “Spyder” is powered by the same naturally aspirated 6.3-litre V12 (high 13.5:1 compression ratio) motor as the LaFerrari, which produces 789 horsepower. The engine is paired to a 161 hp electric motor which together bring the total output to 950 hp and over 900 Nm of torque. In terms of performance, this drop-top LaFerrari should be on par, with a century sprint time of less than 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 350km/h.

More details on the special edition LaFerrari will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show (sometime in October), so stay tuned!
