The Jaguar XJ lineup has just been refreshed for the Malaysian market. The six-year-old aluminium-intensive limo was given an update last year, and finally it’s now available here with a starting price of RM645,000.00.

Externally, the new headlamps with ‘Double-J’ LED DRLs mark out the facelifted XJ from the front, while the back is harder to tell even with the new tail lights with the ‘J-Blade‘ motif incorporated inside. Both front and rear bumpers are new, while there’s a choice of 19- and 20-inch rims available on top of the standard-fit 19-inch items.2016 Jaguar XJ Facelift - AutoBuzz.my

Highlighting the interior is the mix of sumptuous leather-lined cabin and a high-tech infotainment system. The 8-inch touchscreen is powered by a quad-core processor for a quick and smooth response of the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, and it’s hooked up to the 20-speaker 825W Meridian Digital Surround Sound System. On top of that, the 12.3-inch high-definition Virtual Instrument Display is now utilised to display a full-screen 3D map from the Satellite Navigation System.

As standard, the new XJ is fitted with the All Surface Progress Control (ASPC) which assists the driver to pull away from standstill in slippery condition as well as hill descent control, 360° Park Distance Control with Surround Camera System, and Pedestrian Contact Sensing that raises the bonnet slightly when it senses an imminent collision with a pedestrian.2016 Jaguar XJ Facelift - AutoBuzz.my

All XJ models here will come in a single long-wheelbase bodystyle, but there are three engine choices to choose from. The smallest of the range is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo generating 237 hp and 340 Nm of torque, followed by a couple of 3.0-litre V6 mills. The first V6 is a supercharged petrol unit with 335 hp and 450 Nm, while the other one is a turbocharged diesel unit with 296 hp and a whopping 700 Nm of torque. All three send their power to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The prices without insurance for the new XJ range from RM645,000.00 for the 2.0 i4, RM830,000.00 for the V6 petrol and RM800,000.00 for the V6 diesel. Every model comes with Jaguar Care 5-Year warranty (or 150,000 km, whichever comes first), 5-Year servicing (or 80,000 km for 2.0, 65,000 km for 3.0, whichever comes first), and 3-Year Jaguar Roadside Assistance.
