Prices for Nissan cars go up, Almera now costs nearly RM5,000 more

After nearly six months since Edaran Tan Chong Malaysia (ETCM) broke news of a price hike for Nissan cars, the time has finally come for the sole distributor to act upon it. Only four locally assembled models are affected – Almera, X Gear, Grand Livina and Teana.

Prices are up between 2.8 to 6.7 percent depending on the models, and this comes into effect beginning 1 April 2016. Below is the new pricing for the said cars:Nissan ETCM Price Hike 2016 - AutoBuzz.my

According to ETCM, the pricing revision is mainly due to the weak Ringgit which has severely impacted the company’s overall operational costs. To reduce some of this impact, ETCM has implemented cost rationalisation measures and optimised all operations across the supply chain.

Executive Director of ETCM, Dato’ Dr Ang Bon Beng said, “Due to prolonged unfavourable foreign exchange and higher operating costs, only the four selected models will have a price increase. With this, we have done our best in adjusting the price as minimal as possible.”

For the time being, prices for the X-Trail, Serena S-Hybrid, NP300 Navara and NV200 remain unchanged.
