Subaru is set to unveil the all-new Impreza at the upcoming New York Motor Show. It will be available in two body styles – saloon and hatchback. What we have here is a teaser image of the new car, revealing just the front-left side of the Impreza.
The picture suggests that the Impreza’s headlights could follow the same design found on the facelifted XV. Nothing much has been revealed at this point of time, apart from the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system and their new suite of award-winning safety tech. The new Impreza should follow the concept (pictured below) which was previewed at the Los Angeles Motor Show last year.
The new Impreza is among the first models to be part of the Subaru Global Platform, and next to receive the treatment is the next-generation XV. The new model is set to be more driver-focused thanks to its more rigid chassis, reduced body roll and a lower center of gravity. The inclusion of all-wheel drive should refresh the memories of go-fast Subarus on rally grounds.
In Malaysia, the Impreza is sold as the “WRX “moniker by Motor Image, with two variants offered: the WRX (RM237,190.80) and WRX STI (RM278,720.50). Do read what we think of the WRX STI on our review here!
