Proton Perdana now open for booking, priced from RM100k to RM150k

The Proton Perdana, the first of four new Proton models to be unveiled this year, is now open for booking. It will be launched sometime in March.

It’s no secret now that the new Perdana is based on the eight-generation Honda Accord, done courtesy of a one-off deal signed between the two carmakers some years back. Two variants have been offered, but here’s a quick summary for a easier read:perdana-alamiproton (13)

While the mechanical and electrical components from Honda remain untouched, Proton spent millions upon millions in reworking the car, particularly its aesthetics. We were given the opportunity to view the car in person (courtesy of a media preview event held by Proton) and suffice to say, the new Proton Perdana is definitely the company’s most handsome car to date.

Apart from its looks, the new Perdana gets a multitude of goodies as well. This includes an infotainment system that integrates reverse camera and GPS Navigation, dual zone auto air conditioning as well as power seat, but only for the driver. Safety wise, it comes with ABS with EBD and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) – otherwise known as Honda’s Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA).
