2016 Volvo V90 leaked ahead of Geneva debut

Following the unveiling of the Volvo S90, it’s only a matter of time before the wagon version get introduced. Now, thanks to these leaked images from Swedish magazine Teknikens Varld, we get an early glimpse as to how the new V90 will look like.

In fact, this is not the first time the V90 was leaked onto the Internet. Last year, several pictures of the 1:43 scale model was leaked onto a Swedish website who went on to claim that “the Swedes fell hardest for estate cars”. Well, it looks like the Swedes won’t be sharing the same train of thought when it comes to judging the V90’s new look. It’s stunning!

While the V90 shares the similar front fascia as the S90 and XC90, the V90 has a more distinctive, sharper looking rear lights. The V90 is 5.9 inches longer than its predecessor, the V70.

The V90 will share the similar powertrains with the new XC90 and S90, meaning the top of the range V90 will be powered by the most powerful Drive E engine – a 407 hp T8 ‘Twin Engine’ plug-in hybrid. The standard V90 will not be the sole variant offered by Volvo, because a Cross Country variant as well as a hotter unit by Polestar are currently in the works.

The V90 is expected to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Once again, Volvo has proved that practicality, performance, and desirability can be combined to create an ultimate performance car that is not an SUV.
